About Me

My photo
I am a daughter, a friend, a wife, and most of all a Mother. It was quite a journey to motherhood, but I am enjoying my children everyday because of the struggle. I grew up because of them and I am continuing to be a better mom and person everyday. I adore my husband and my kids and they, in turn, adore me. We are Growing Up Souter.

Eden's Tea Party

Where has all of the time gone? My daughter aka SugarMuffin aka Eddy- Beadyy is turning 3!

She has had so many milestones. Too many really because now she and her brother fuss and take things from each other . . all the time. But it's all love.

So I spent the last few weeks working on this party in our basement. My husband and I put up the decorations. Then I got creative and decided to make the food.
Enter the party menu:

  • Lobster salad and toasted stars
  • Sunflower butter and jam samdwiches (flower shape)
  • White Pizza triangles
  • Chicken Nuggets (Chik-Fil-A)
  • Fruit from Chik-Fil-A (it is THE freshest)
  • Tuna Fish Sandwiches (heart shaped)
  • And Tea, of course, made by Tameika

The heart, tea pots and custom name signs were ordered The TomKat Studios. They had an Alice in Wonderland theme that I borrowed the Tea Party idea from. My husband and I made all the signs and table cards. Whew!

It was SO MUCH FUN!  And alas, my baby girl has had her very own birthday party. She's 3.

Here's a slide show from the party. Enjoy!

Up, up, up . . for air

Another Swimming post . . . . .  Video of Emmanuel swimming from the deep end and coming up for air to make it back to Ms. Brooke.

Today was the kids last Sunday swimming this year. They will re-join Ms. Brooke in January at her Sunday Swim program. They both got ribbons for their participation.

Jesus is My Joy!

Tis the season for Christmas Celebrations. Tonight was the RTCA Christmas Celebration of which Eden participated. She and her little Pre-K2 and Pre-K3 classmates did well. They were all too cute!

Her class did a scripture "For Unto Us a Child Is Born,in a City called David, A Saviour Jesus Christ!"

The finale was Jesus Is My Joy!

The school did a terrific job of moving the play along. It was only one hour long. Which is really good for an African American Christmas Play.

Here are some pictures taken with friends after the play.

In a few weeks they'll both be the next age. Ahhh . . . . . .
Happy Holidays!

Souter Swimming Chronicles

Well, we're back. Back to sharing our growings up on the blog. It's hard to organize, share, and save all the photos videos and happenings just on Facebook ( some family members - I won't dare say whom- haven't Made the leap to Facebook).

So Here we go picking up with the Souter kids, Now ages five and two respectively, and their new interest in learning how to swim. I was able to find a really good swimming coach by the name of Brooke Moore. Brooke or Miss Brooke as the children call her, has her own private swimming classes. And she's REALLY good.

We have been with Brooke for about 3 months or so now, once a week. Prior to Brooke we wouldn't go near a pool without several flotation devices. Check these kids out with just flippers.

It's been an AMAZING transformation for these two.
